Ålesund (or Aalesund) is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. Ålesund was founded in 1837. The city has gotten attention worldwide for being one of the best small sea ports in Europe.[2][3][4][1]
The mayor, Håkon Lykkebø Strand, is elected until late 2027.[5]
