The 2004 United States Open Championship was the 104th U.S. Open. The tournament was on June 17–20 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Shinnecock Hills, New York. Retief Goosen won his second U.S. Open tournament. He was 2 strokes ahead of 2nd place, Phil Mickelson, the Masters champion.[2][3][4][5]
The tournament was late on Sunday. The weather was dry and windy. Goosen's last U.S. Open win was in 2001 in Southern Hills.
