Aaron Josef Hernandez (November 6, 1989 – April 19, 2017), was an American football tight end and convicted murderer. He was born in Bristol, Connecticut.[1] He was drafted by New England Patriots in 2010.
In 2013, Hernandez was indicted for first-degree murder. He was found guilty of murder in April 2015.[2] He was sentenced to life in prison without parole.[3]
He committed suicide by hanging on April 19, 2017 in his prison cell.[4] After his death, an autopsy revealed that Hernandez had been suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).[5]
