It went to number 1 in the United States, number 2 in Canada, number 13 in New Zealand, number 17 in Finland, number 20 in Switzerland and the Netherlands, number 6 in the United Kingdom, number 5 in Sweden, number 29 in Germany, number 26 in Iceland, number 12 in Ireland and number 19 in Australia. It was nominated for an Academy Award in 1994 and was used in the 1993 movie Poetic Justice.
