Allen Cedric "A.C." Cowlings^[1] (born June 16, 1947) is an American former professional football player and actor. He played college football for the USC Trojans. He was a starter at various defensive positions for the Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and the San Francisco 49ers, until retiring after the 1979 season.^[2]^[3]

Cowlings is most known for his role in helping his close friend O. J. Simpson run away from the police on June 17, 1994, after Simpson was accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. After leading police on a low-speed chase in his now famous white Ford Bronco, Cowlings drove Simpson back to his home where both were arrested. Cowlings was arrested for helping a fugitive, although the charges against Cowlings would later be dropped.^[4]^[5]
