Amanita phalloides (also known as death cap) is a deadly toxic basidiomycete fungus and mushroom, part of the genus Amanita. Originating in Europe,^[1] but it has appeared in other parts of the world since the late 20th century. A. phalloides grow in summer and autumn, and the caps are mostly greenish with white stipe and gills.
