Arakan Coast Guard
Arakan Coast Guard (Burmese: အာရက္ခကမ်းရိုးတန်းစောင့်တပ်ဖွဲ့) (ACG), is responsible for the law at sea, maintenance of seamarks, border control, and other services. The Coast Guards work mainly on rivers and land, in contrast to the Navy who handle deep sea operations. The Coast Guards handle smugglers and terrorists and enforce law on beaches and other coastal areas.The Arakan Coast Guard (ACG) is the maritime law enforcement and security force of the Arakan Army (AA), a powerful ethnic armed group in Myanmar's Rakhine State. Responsible for the region's maritime law enforcement, border control, and maintenance of seamarks, the ACG operates in waters controlled by the AA, including detaining Bangladeshi fishermen for illegal fishing.
