Arma is a city in Crawford County, Kansas, United States. At the 2020 census, 1,407 people lived there.[3]
History
Arma was created in 1894.[4] It was named after W.F. Armacost, an early landowner.[5]
A post office was opened at Arma in 1891. It was used until it was closed in 1906.[6]
Arma was a station on the Missouri Pacific Railroad.[7]
Geography
Arma is at 37°32′34″N 94°42′7″W / 37.54278°N 94.70194°W (37.542775, -94.701807). The United States Census Bureau says that the city has a total area of 1.16 square miles (3.00 km2). Of that, 1.13 square miles (2.93 km2) is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 km2) is water.[2]

2020 census
The 2020 census says that there were 1,407 people, 632 households, and 357 families living in Arma. Of the households, 65.5% owned their home and 34.5% rented their home.
The median age was 45.2 years. Of the people, 90.2% were White, 0.8% were Black, 0.7% were Native American, 0.2% were Asian, 0.1% were Pacific Islanders, 1.1% were some other race, and 6.9% were two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.7% of the people.[3][8]
2010 census
The 2010 census says that there were 1,481 people, 657 households, and 372 families living in Arma.[9]
Education
Arma is part of USD 246 Northeast.[10]
Before school unification, the Arma High School mascot was Bulldogs.[11]
