Asbach-Bäumenheim is a municipality in the district of Donau-Ries in Bavaria in Germany. The mayor is Martin Paninka of the SPD political party. During WW2 prisoners were kept in a concentration camp there, and were forced to work. A memorial remembers the prisoners who died. The village was named Asbach-Bäumenheim in 1958.
Geography
The municipality is located near the town of Donauwörth and about 40 kilometers north of Augsburg. The Schmutter River flows through it, shortly before it flows into the Danube. The Egelseebach stream runs through the municipality between Asbach, Bäumenheim, and Hamlar. A small stream, called the Steglesgraben , flows through the towns of Asbach and Bäumenheim, which runs mostly under the road.
