It was a music event hosted by Travis Scott.[1][2] Following the crush, the second day of the festival was canceled. The concert was livestreamed on Apple Music.

Ten people were killed in the crush on that night.[3] The cause of death of all ten victims was determined to be compressive asphyxiation. Twenty-three were hospitalized and more than 300 people were treated for injuries at the festival's field hospital.[4]

On November 10, another person died from their injuries.[5]

Since the incident, 2 documentaries have released: Amazon Prime's Concert Crush and Netflix's Trainwreck: The Astroworld Tragedy.

Additionally, conspiracy theories circled that Scott's music was satanic, however it has been debunked.[5]

As of September 2025, all lawsuits regarding fatalities have been settled; and while there have been over 300 lawsuits regarding injuries settled, there are still an undisclosed amount outstanding.
