Baa, Baa, Black Sheep
Baa, Baa, Black Sheep is a popular nursery rhyme, originally published in 1744. The modern lyrics is as follows:
- Baa baa black sheep
- Have you any wool?
- Yes sir, yes sir!
- Three bags full!
- One for the master,
- One for the dame.
- And one for the little boy
- Who lives down the lane.
The song teaches kids about giving things to other peoples. The rhyme was probably based on the time when slavery wool taxes were too low. It has a similar melody to the ABC song and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.
