Black Sabbath concert chronology

Back to the Beginning was a charity concert by the English heavy metal band Black Sabbath, with other music artists. It happened on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park in Aston, Birmingham, England. This is very near to where the band was started in 1968. All four members of the band at the start in 1968 were there: Ozzy Osbourne (singing), Tony Iommi (electric guitar), Geezer Butler (bass guitar), and Bill Ward (drums). These had not played on stage together for 20 years.[1]

Osbourne could not walk because of Parkinson's disease, and sat in a large seat that looked like a throne. It was Osbourne's last performance as he died seventeen days later.[2][3]

£140 million was raised by the event for charity, which will be divided equally between Acorns Children's Hospice, Birmingham Children's Hospital, and Cure Parkinson's.[4][5]
