Balli Kombëtar
The Balli Kombëtar, was an Nationalist movement during World War II. Founded in November 1942, it was formed as a Resistance movement to fight against the Axis powers in Albania. They faced opposition by the Communist National Liberation Movement led by Enver Hoxha. In August 1943, the both sides made an agreement to aim to regulate the Albanian resistance. By September the Italy had joined the Allies and Germany occupied Albania. Fearing attacks from lager superior forces, the Balli kombëtar made a deal with the Nazis and continued the war against the LANÇ and the Yugoslav Partisans. In 1944, with the Balkans being liberated by the allies and local resistance groups. The German forces in the region began retreating to safer places and Albania was liberated by the Albanian communists.
