Bapsi Sidhwa (née Bhandara; 11 August 1938 – 25 December 2024) was a Pakistani writer. She wrote in English. Sidwa was best known for her novels, The Crow Eaters (1978), The Bride (1982), Cracking India (1991), An American Brat (1993) and Water: A Novel (2006). She was born in Lahore, Pakistan. She was best known for her collaborative work with Indo-Canadian filmmaker, Deepa Mehta.

Sidhwa died on 25 December 2024 in Houston, Texas at the age of 86.[2] [1]
