Bathysoma lutkeni is an extinct species of lampriform from the Paleocene of Sweden. One specimen is known from a rock from the Lellinge Greensand Formation.
Description
Appearance
B. lutkeni has a deep body and a tube-like head. However, not really much is known about it.
Classification
B. lutkeni was classified as a menid,[1] then became a snake mackerel. However, scientists soon decided to classify it as basal because it looked way too much like a typical turkmenid.
