Beer Money, Inc. were a professional wrestling tag team that competed in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA). The members of the team were Robert/Bobby Roode and James Storm. Jacqueline was the valet for the team and Ric Flair acted as their manager when they were part of Fortune. The team had the gimmick of a rich Wall Street-type businessman (Roode) and a beer-drinking redneck (Storm).
They were five-time and record-tying TNA World Tag Team Champions, Roode was a one-time TNA King of the Mountain Champion and Storm was a one-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion.
Career
Total Nonstop Action Wrestling
On the June 12, 2008 episode of TNA Impact!, Storm and Roode teamed together and they challenged the Latin American Xchange (LAX) (Homicide and Hernandez) for the TNA World Tag Team Championships but lost.[1] At Victory Road, Storm and Roode had a rematch against LAX for the championships in a "Fan's Revenge" Lumberjack match but lost again.[2] On the July 31 episode of TNA Impact!, Beer Money defeated the team of Christian Cage and Rhino to become the number one contenders for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[3] At Hard Justice, Beer Money defeated LAX to become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions.[4] The two successfully defended their championships at No Surrender in a rematch against LAX.[5] At Bound for Glory IV, Beer Money defended their championships in a Monster's Ball match against Abyss and Matt Morgan, the Latin American Xchange (Hernandez and Homicide), and Team 3D (Brother Devon and Brother Ray) with Steve McMichael serving as the special guest referee. Beer Money went on to win them match.[6] At Turning Point, they had another successful title defence, this time defeating the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin).[7] On the January 8 episode of Impact!, Jay Lethal cashed in his Feast or Fired briefcase and, along with Consequences Creed, defeated Beer Money to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[8]
At Genesis, Beer Money defeated both the teams of Consequences Creed and Jay Lethal and Abyss and Matt Morgan in a three-way tag team match to win back the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[9] On the February 19, 2009 episode of Impact!, Beer Money announced that they were starting the "Off the Wagon Challenge" where they defended the title against any other team but if the challenging team lost, they had to leave the company.[10] At Lockdown, Beer Money lost the championships to Team 3D in a Philadelphia Street Fight where Team 3D's IWGP Tag Team Championships were also on the line.[11] The team turned faces after saving Team 3D from a beatdown by The British Invasion (Doug Williams, Brutus Magnus and Rob Terry).[12] Beer Money entered Team 3D's Invitational Tag Team Tournament and went on to defeat The British Invasion in the finals at Sacrifice to earn a shot at Team 3D's championships.[13]
At Slammiversary, Beer Money defeated Team 3D to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[14] Beer Money entered a feud with the Main Event Mafia (Booker T and Scott Steiner) and lost the championships to them at Victory Road.[15] On the November 12, 2008 episode of TNA Impact!, Beer Money defeated The British Invasion in a number one contender match for the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[16] At Turning Point, they challenged for the Tag Team championships but lost after Kevin Nash interfered and attacked them.[17]
On the March 8 episode of Impact!, Beer Money turned heel after they attacked Jeff Jarrett.[18] On the June 17 episode of Impact!, Flair announced that was reform the legendary stable Four Horsemen under the new name Fourtune.[19] Beer Money entered a two–week-long tournament to determine the number one contenders for TNA World Tag Team Championships. They went on to defeat Team 3D and Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore) to win the tournament. At Victory Road, they faced the Motor City Machine Guns for the World Tag Team Championship but lost the match.[20] On the July 29 episode of Impact!, Flair announced that Beer Money had been added to the group to become the newest members of Fourtune.[21] At Final Resolution, Beer Money defeated Ink Inc. (Jesse Neal and Shannon Moore) to become the number one contenders for the World Tag Team Championships.[22]
At Genesis, they defeated the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) to win the TNA World Tag Team Championships.[23] Beer Money, along with Fortune, turned face after attacking Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff's Immortal stable.[24] On the August 18 episode of Impact Wrestling, Beer Money lost the championships to Mexican America (Anarquia and Hernandez) after Jeff Jarrett interfered. During their run as champions, Beer Money had set the record for the longest reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions at 212 days.[25]
At No Surrender, Roode defeated Bully Ray in the finals of the Bound for Glory series to become the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.[26] At Bound for Glory, Roode was unable to win the championship after being defeated by Kurt Angle.[27]
On the October 20 episode of Impact Wrestling, Storm defeated Angle and defeated him to become the new TNA World Heavyweight Champion.[28] On the November 3 episode of Impact Wrestling, Roode challenged his tag team partner Storm for the championship. After he was defeated, Roode turned heel when he smashed a beer bottle over Storm's head, splitting up Beer Money Inc.[29]
