Marcel Theo Hall (April 8, 1964 – July 16, 2021), known professionally as Biz Markie, was an American rapper, DJ, and record producer. He was best known for his 1989 single, "Just a Friend".
Markie was born in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City.[2] He married Tara Hall in 2005.[3]
Markie was nicknamed the "Clown Prince of Hip Hop".[4]
On July 1, 2021, there had been rumors about Markie dying.[5]
Markie died fifteen days later on July 16 in Baltimore, Maryland from diabetes-related problems at age 57.[6]
