Robert Earl Filner (September 4, 1942 – April 20, 2025) was an American politician. He was the 35th mayor of San Diego from December 2012 through August 2013. He resigned because of many allegations of sexual harassment.[3] He was a member of the Democratic Party. Filner was the U.S. representative for California's 51st congressional district from 1993 to 2012.
Filner died on April 20, 2025, at the age of 82 at an assisted living home in Costa Mesa, California.[4][5]
