Bombing of Tokyo
After the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor, the United States has conducted various bombing operations against Tokyo, Japan's capital and largest city. This was one of the main campaigns of the Pacific War (especially the air raids on Japan). This lasted from 1942 to 1945.[1]
Estimations show that more than 105,000 people dead, mainly civilians. On the other side, the US dropped nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki from 6 to 9 August 1945. On 15 August, Japan surrendered and signed a peace treaty on 2 September. Ending the war.
