Career
Before playing in the NHL, Mironov played five seasons with CSKA Moscow of the Soviet Championship League and International Hockey League (IHL).
He was selected 27th overall by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1992 NHL entry draft. On 6 October 1993, Mironov made his NHL debut in a 6–4 win against the Washington Capitals.[1] Three days later, on 8 October, Mironov scored his first NHL goal against Andy Moog in a 3–3 overtime tie with the Dallas Stars.[2]
On 15 March 1994, the Jets traded Mironov along with Mats Lindgren and a 1994 first and fourth-round pick to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Dave Manson and a 1994 sixth-round draft pick.[3] During his time with the Oilers, Mironov was named to the 1993–94 NHL All-Rookie Team.[4] He played parts of six seasons with the Oilers.
On 20 March 1999, the Oilers traded Mironov along with Jonas Elofsson and Dean McAmmond to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for Chad Kilger, Ethan Moreau, Daniel Cleary and Christian Laflamme.[5] He played parts of five seasons with the Blackhawks but was not able to find the same success as before.
On 8 January 2003, the Blackhawks traded Mironov to the New York Rangers in exchange for a 2004 fourth-round pick.[6] He played parts of two seasons with the Rangers. On 3 September, Mironov signed a contract to join the Rangers.[7]
In 2007, Mironov decided to retire from playing professional ice hockey.
