Breadwinners is an animated television series. It was produced by Nickelodeon. It was first shown as a "sneak beak" on February 17, 2014, then new episodes came out until the end of 2015.[1] The show resumed on Nicktoons in 2016 for its last episodes.

The creators of Breadwinners are Gary "Doodles" DiRaffaele and Steve Borst. They originally made it as a one-time short online, but later got in contact with Nickelodeon to make it a full series on television.

Plot

The show is about the adventures of two green ducks named SwaySway and Buhdeuce who deliver all kinds of bread to the people of Pondgea with their rocket van.

SwaySway is the tall one and the leader of the duo. Buhdeuce is shorter and rounder but loyal.

Characters

  • SwaySway (voiced by Robbie Daymond)[2] is a tall duck that wears a blue hat and shorts. He comes from a long line of Breadwinners.
  • Buhdeuce (voiced by Eric Bauza)[3] is also a duck who is short and round. He is 30 inches tall and wears a red hat and shorts.
  • Jelly is the female pet frog of the Breadwinners who acts like a dog. She can only say "ribbit" and was originally owned by Buhdeuce.
  • The Bread Maker is a mythical human who lives in the bread mines. He can be summoned at any time by rubbing a magic toaster, like a genie.
  • Ketta is the ace mechanic swan who rides in roller skates. She owns the Ketta's Auto-Tune-Up business in Volcano Valley where she "fixifies" the rocket van for the Breadwinners. Her catchphrases include "honk!", "whoa-ma-gosh!" and "aw lug nuts!"
  • T-Midi is an owl with a British accent. He lives in a treehouse in Tree City with his "mumsie" (who is a painting). He is very fancy but also immature.
  • Rambamboo is a toad who is a police officer. She flies with her jetpack and she is very strict. Her catchphrase is "Leapin' lily pads!"
  • Oonski the Great is a muscular beaver who is a viking. His motto is "Eat beat steal!" and he speaks in 3rd-person, he owns a viking blimp.
  • Mr. Pumpers is a stork who runs the successful restaurant Pumpers, which can be found on a cloud in the sky. He is very greedy and pulls a lot of schemes to make more money.
  • Zoona and Roni are the Pizzawinners who deliver pizza. They are birds and they are very similar to SwaySway and Buhdeuce. They were their rivals until their boss, the Pizza Lord was defeated.

Main places

  • The show takes place in a fictional planet called Pondgea, which is very water-based. The crust is made out of bread crust.
  • The Breadwinners live in the Swamp Pad, which is partially a birdhouse and hangar. The surface is a giant lily pad.
  • Below the Swamp Pad are the bread mines. It is like a real mine, expect they mine bread instead of rocks, stones or granite.
  • Duck Town is a town. The roads are water-based and the town very colorful. It's the Breadwinners' go-to place for delivering bread, as they get a lot of orders there.
    • The Lower Yeast Side is a neighborhood of Duck Town, it is notoriously very dangerous, and the home of the biker ducks.
    • Feather Cuts is a hair salon at Duck Town. The barber is a duck ninja called Ninja Barber.
    • Quack-E-Mart is a grocery store at Duck Town.
  • Tree City is a city made entirely of trees. It's in a swamp.
  • Volcano Valley is like a lava world in a video game. It is home to volcanoes, lava, and the duckosaurs.
    • Ketta's Auto-Tune-Up is Ketta's repair shop.
  • Pumpers is a restaurant owned by Mr. Pumpers. It is on a cloud in the sky and serves a large variety of food. It is very popular.
