Cédric Paquette (born August 13, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre. He currently plays for Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). He also played parts of 9 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes, and Montreal Canadiens. He also played for Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).

He won the Stanley Cup with the Lightning on 2020.

Career

Before playing in the NHL, Paquette played three seasons in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL); one with the Montreal Junior Hockey Club and two with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

He was selected 101st overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2012 NHL entry draft. He was sent down to play for their AHL-affiliate Syracuse Crunch. On April 11, 2014, the Lightning called Paquette up and he made his NHL debut in a 3–2 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. During the game, Paquette recorded his first NHL point, assisting on an Eric Brewer goal.[1] He finished the season and playoffs with the team before being sent back down. On November 4, 2014, the Lightning called him back down.[2] On April 11, 2014, Paquette scored his first two NHL goals in a 5–2 win against the Calgary Flames. During the game, Paquette scored the first goal in the first period and then scored the first goal in the second period.[3] On June 24, 2016, Paquette signed a two-year, $1.65 million contract to remain with the Lightning.[4] On July 5, 2019, Paquette signed a two-year, $3.3 million to remain with the Lightning.[5]

On December 27, 2020, the Lightning traded Paquette along with Braydon Coburn and a 2022 second round pick to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Marián Gáborík and Anders Nilsson.[6] He played 9 games with the team and scored 1 goal.

On February 13, 2021, the Senators traded Paquette along with Alex Galchenyuk to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Ryan Dzingel.[7] He helped the Hurricanes make it to the Stanley Cup playoffs. The team made it to the Central Division second round but they lost to the Tampa Bay Lightning four games to one.[8]

On July 28, 2021, Paquette signed a one-year, $950,000 contract to join the Montreal Canadiens.[9] He played 24 games with the Habs and recorded 2 assists.On March 12, 2022, the Canadiens waived him and sent him down to play for their AHL-affiliate Laval Rocket.[10]

On August 16, 2022, Paquette decided to leave North America and signed a one-year, $950,000 contract to join the Dinamo Minsk of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).[11] He played one season with them, scoring 14 goals and recording 13 assists.

On May 2, 2023, Paquette signed a one-year, $950,000 contract to join the Dynamo Moscow of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL).[12]
