On Wednesday, March 11, 2020, local health officials in the State reported a positive test for the COVID-19 in Montgomery County. It was then declared the first possible cause of community spread of this condition in Texas and the Greater Houston metropolitan. That included Houston itself.
On Friday, March 13, 2020, Texas Governor Greg Abbott put all counties under a disaster state. Abbott then executed emergency powers for his administration.
