Camilla Belle
Camilla Belle (born October 2, 1986) is an American actress. She has acted in many movies. She starred in the movies Practical Magic and Push. The actress was born in Los Angeles, California.[1]
Early life
Belle was born on October 2, 1986, to Deborah Cristina Gould, who has Brazilian heritage, and Jack Wesley Routh, a country music performer and composer. She is an only child. Belle attended Marlborough School, an all-girls high school located in Los Angeles. She grew up speaking both English and Portuguese and often visited her mother's family in Brazil during her childhood. Belle was raised in the Roman Catholic faith.[2][3][4][5]
Career
Camilla Belle received nominations for the Young Artist Award for her roles in the television films "Replacing Dad" (1999) and "Rip Girls" (2000). She played the lead in "Back to the Secret Garden" (2001) and then took a break from acting. She returned in the independent film "The Quiet" (2005), which was noted for her performance. In 2006, she signed a contract to represent Vera Wang's "Princess" fragrance, appearing in advertisements and commercials until her contract ended in July 2009.[6][7][8][9][10]
She played the main character, sixteen-year-old Jill Johnson, in the 2006 remake of When a Stranger Calls.[11] In this film, her character is a babysitter who gets threatening phone calls from an unknown person.[12] The movie earned $67.1 million worldwide. In 2007, she appeared in a television commercial for the coffee brand Nespresso with actor George Clooney. She also had a leading role in the action-adventure film 10,000 BC, directed by Roland Emmerich, which was released in 2008 and made $269 million globally.[13]
Public image
Belle's fashion choices and appearance have received significant attention from the media.[14][15] She has been featured on the covers of many fashion magazines, such as Teen Vogue, Elle, and Harper's Bazaar. Belle often attends major fashion events, including New York Fashion Week.[16] Additionally, she has worked as a runway model for designers like Alberta Ferretti and participated in The Heart Truth's Red Dress Collection.[17]
Personal life
Belle was in a relationship with singer Joe Jonas from September 2008 to July 2009.[18] They met while filming the Jonas Brothers music video "Lovebug," where she played the lead role. Belle also had a short relationship with American football player Tim Tebow from October to December 2012.[19]
