Carlos Torres Vila
Carlos Torres Vila (Born, February 24, 1966) is a Spanish banker and executive. He is the Chairman of Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) since January 1, 2019, replacing Francisco González.

Education
He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and earned two degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration.
Career
In September 2008, he joined BBVA as Director of Strategy and Corporate Development and a member of its Management Committee.
In that capacity, he led the execution of transactions such as the acquisition of a 24.9% stake in the Turkish bank Garanti, as well as the creation of BBVA Ventures, BBVA's venture capital fund that invests in financial startups.
In March 2014, he was appointed Director of Digital Banking, a position he held until May 2015, when he was appointed CEO of BBVA, replacing Ángel Cano, his predecessor. He was appointed Chairman of BBVA on November 29, 2018, effective January 1, 2019.[1]
