Charles Nelson Reilly (January 13, 1931 – May 25, 2007) was an American actor, comedian, singer, director and drama teacher.
He was part of the original Broadway casts of Bye Bye Birdie; Hello, Dolly!; and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical. He was known for his television roles in The Ghost & Mrs. Muir and Match Game.
He was also known for his one-man play Save It for the Stage: The Life of Reilly.[1] This play was eventually made into a 2006 documentary movie.
Reilly was born January 13, 1931 in New York City.[2] He was openly gay.[1]
Reilly died on May 25, 2007 from problems caused by pneumonia at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, California at the age of 76.[3]
