Chongzhen Emperor

The Chongzhen Emperor was the emperor of China from 1627 until 1644, He was the last Emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Born into a life of luxury, The Chongzhen Emperor was born as Zhu Youjian, He was born in Shuntian Province,North Zhili, and his era name means “Honorable and Auspicious”[1]He was the son of the Taichang Emperor and the younger brother of the Tianqi Emperor. When he took the Ming throne and became emperor in the second of October, 1627 after the Tianqi Emperor’s death. The Manchus would storm over China, He would not be able to defend the northern frontier against the Qing Dynasty, After the rebels lead under Li Zicheng captured Peking, the Chongzhen Emperor would commit suicide by hanging himself on a tree.
