Chukwudi Iwuji (born October 15, 1975) is a Nigerian-British actor. He has acted on stage, in films, and on television. He is known for his work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and roles in American superhero series and films.
Early life
Iwuji was born in Nigeria. He moved to Ethiopia as a child when his parents worked for the United Nations. Later, he studied in the United Kingdom at Caterham School and then in the United States at Yale University.[1]
Career
Theatre
Iwuji began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company in the early 2000s. He played leading roles in plays such as Henry VI, Julius Caesar, and Othello.[2]
Film and television
He appeared as Clemson Murn in the HBO Max series Peacemaker (2022). In 2023, he played the villainous High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.[3]
Personal life
He is married to actress and singer Angela Travino.[4]
Awards
He won an Obie Award for his stage performance in The Low Road.[5]
