Constitution of Canada

The Constituion of Canada is a set of fundamental principles or established precedents that form the legal basis of Canada, defining how it is governed, the powers of its institutions, and the rights of its citizens.

The Constitution of Canada includes the Constitution Act, 1867, and the Constitution Act, 1982. It is the supreme law of Canada. It reaffirms Canada's dual legal system and also includes Aboriginal rights and treaty rights.
