Coquitlam Central station

Coquitlam Central is a train station in Coquitlam, British Columbia. It is located at 2920 Barnet Highway. It is owned by TransLink and is used by the SkyTrain in the Metro Vancouver area for their Millennium Line and the West Coast Express.

In 1991, across from the now-station land was a bus loop and Park and Ride facility which was known as Coquitlam Station. It was known as this until the Evergreen Extension arrived and it was renamed to Coquitlam Central Station.[1] On November 1, 1995, the station for the West Coast Express opened. The station was built in 2016 and opened on December 2. When TransLink was building the the Evergreen Extension for the Millennium Line, they decided to start building new stations with Coquitlam Central being one of them. TransLink hired the architecture firm Francl Architecture to build the station.[2]

It is both an at-grade and elevated station with two tracks for the SkyTrain and two tracks for the Canadian Pacific Railway. There is a side platform for the West Coast Express and two side platforms for the SkyTrain. For the SkyTrain, it is preceded by Inlet Centre towards VCC–Clark and ends at Lincoln towards Lafarge Lake–Douglas. For the West Coast Express, it is preceded by Moody Centre and ends at Port Coquitlam towards Mission City. In 2024, it was ranked at #31 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain.[3]

The station serves as a connection for the R3, 150, 151, 152, 153, 159, 160, 169, 171, 172, 173, 174, 175, 179, 183, 185, 186, 187, 188, 189, 191, 701, and N9 TransLink and Coast Mountain Bus Company bus services.[4]

Around the station is Coquitlam Centre, Westwood Mall, Pinetree Village, and Dacre Park.
