David Robert Filo (born April 20, 1966) is an American businessman and philanthropist best known as the co-founder of Yahoo! Inc., one of the pioneering web services and search engines of the early internet era. Filo’s work alongside Jerry Yang was instrumental in shaping Yahoo into a globally recognized internet company during the 1990s and 2000s.[1][1]
Early Life and Education
David Filo was born in Wisconsin and raised in Moss Bluff, Louisiana. He attended Tulane University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering. Afterward, Filo went on to pursue a Master’s degree in electrical engineering at Stanford University. It was at Stanford where he met Jerry Yang, with whom he would later establish Yahoo.[2][2]
