Derbyshire men's cricket team

The sport of cricket has been played in Derbyshire since the 18th century. The earliest known match in the county took place in September 1757. County cricket in Derbyshire is organised by the Derbyshire County Cricket Club, which was formed in 1870. The team plays in first-class matches. Derbyshire won the County Championship in 1936.[1] Most of their home matches are played at the County Ground in the city of Derby. The club has used numerous venues around the county, including Queen's Park in Chesterfield.[2]
