Duffield, Virginia

Duffield is a town in the U.S. state of Virginia. In the 2020 census, the town had 73 people. Duffield is part of the Tri-Cities area. This area includes the cities of Kingsport, Bristol, Tennessee, and Bristol, Virginia. It is also part of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol region.

Duffield has a town hall. Near Duffield, on U.S. Route 421, is the grave of Ross Carter. He was a World War II soldier and a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He wrote a book called Those Devils in Baggy Pants about his time in the war. There are also many old houses in the area from the time of the American Civil War. Duffield is near the Jefferson National Forest. It is about two miles (3.2 km) west of Natural Tunnel State Park. The Natural Tunnel has been called the "Eighth Wonder of the World" by politician William Jennings Bryan is also located near Duffield.[1]
