Duncan Fletcher

Duncan Andrew Gwynne Fletcher (born 27 September 1948) is a former cricketer from Zimbabwe. He was born in Salisbury (modern Harare), Southern Rhodesia (modern Zimbabwe). He was a left-handed batter and a right-arm fast-medium bowler, whose first-class career spanned the 1969/70 to 1984/85 seasons.[1] He played for Zimbabwe in six limited overs internationals, and was their team captain when they won the 1982 ICC Trophy.[2]

Fletcher later became the England team coach from 1999 to 2007. During that time, England were mostly successful, and won The Ashes in 2005, for the first time in 18 years. Fletcher also worked as the coach of India; under him, they won eight Test series in succession, and the ICC Champions Trophy.[3]
