Durham men's cricket team

The Durham men's cricket team is based at Chester-le-Street in County Durham. It represents the traditional English county of Durham. The earliest known match in the county was played in 1751.[1] The first team to be called Durham was formed in 1876, and Durham County Cricket Club was founded in 1882 to organise cricket in the county. The team has first-class status, and has competed in the official County Championship since 1992—they are the newest member of the competition. They have won the trophy three times, most recently in 2013.[2] Their main home venue is the Riverside Ground. Noted English international players at Durham have included Paul Collingwood, Steve Harmison, Graham Onions, Liam Plunkett, Ben Stokes, and Mark Wood.[3]
