Station

The station is made of a few small buildings. They were built to have a small impact on the environment. The people who stay there must live in an ecological way. For example, they are not allowed to use many kinds of soaps or shampoos.

Eco-Nelson can hold up to 12 people. The people who visit are not regular tourists. They have to work and learn about survival in Antarctica.

Research

Scientists from the Czech Republic use the station for research. They study things like:

The station also helps test new things. They test how well new materials and technologies work in the very cold weather. The station is now run by Masaryk University.
