Emmental (administrative district)
The administrative district of Emmental in the Swiss canton of Bern has 42 municipalities in an area of 691 km². About 98.000 people live in the area. The area is rural. The biggest city is Burgdorf, with about 15.000 people. The second-biggest is Langnau, with about 9.000 people. Langnau is also where the district administration is. The cheese with the same name was originally produced in the district.
