Eotriceratops (meaning "dwan three-horned face) is an extinct genus of ceratopsian that lived in Alberta, in Canada and in Mexico. The type species is the Eotriceratops xerinsularis, he is the only formely named species. A possible second species, the Eotriceratops fowleri is a probably junior synonym or not belongs to same genus and probably a separate taxon, the Ojoceratops, but are in debate. The Eotriceratops lived in Late Cretaceous, between 68.8 to 66.5 milion years ago.
The Eotriceratops coexisted with the large theropod Tyrannosaurid called as Albertosaurus, the famous Ceratopsids Triceratops, your possible synonym Ojoceratops, Nedoceratops and the Torosaurus from example.
Description
The Eotriceratops is estimates in 8.5–9.02 meters (28–30 ft) in lenght, measuring 3 m (10 ft) in height and 9–11 tons (12 short tons) in body mass.[1] The other possible second species E. fowleri is estimates in 5–6 meters (16.4–19.7 ft) in lenght, and 2.2 tons (3 short tons) in body mass.[2][3] But, this second species was not been confirmed and is probably a indeterminate Ceratopsid, a synonym or belongs to a distinct species.
The Eotriceratops is very similar to Triceratops, Torosaurus and Nedoceratops, showing a very close relationship between these three species.[1]
