Sir Eric James Neal AC CVO FTSE HonFAIB (3 June 1924 – 2 September 2025) was an English-born Australian politician. He was the Governor of South Australia 1996-2001, Commissioner of Sydney from 1987 to 1988, and until the start of 2010, the Chancellor of Flinders University.
Neal was born in London, England and migrated with his family to Adelaide in February 1927.[1]
Neal turned 100 in June 2024.[2] He died on 2 September 2025 in Adelaide at the age of 101.[3]
