Ernst Dospel (born 8 October 1976 ) is a former Austrian football player. He played mainly for FK Austria Wien. He also played for the Austrian national football team.
Career
He began his career in 1986 at SV Absdorf. The defender moved to FK Austria Wien in 1995. There he played till 2006. During this time he won Austrian championships twice. On August 31, 2006, he signed a six-month contract with SK Sturm Graz. After this time, he moved to FC Superfund .In the summer of 2007 he went to SV Ried. In the summer of 2008, Ernst Dospel finally moved to FC Admira Wacker Mödling in the second-tier Erste Liga. After Admira failed to reach the Bundesliga in the spring of 2010, Ernst Dospel had to leave. From June 2010, he led SV Absdorf as player-coach and was then briefly its sporting director in 2011. On January 26, 2011, he returned to professional football and signed a contract with Austrian second-tier club First Vienna FC. [1] In the summer of 2013 Dospel was released from Vienna due to his ongoing injury problems. Thereafter he moved to the 2nd division club SV Haitzendorf.
International
Ernst Dospel played 19 matches for the Austrian national football team. His first match was on 29 March 2000 versus Sweden. His last match was on 17 August 2005 versus Scotland. [2]
