Eugene Talmadge (September 23, 1884 – December 21, 1946)[1] was an American attorney and politician. He was the 55th governor of Georgia.[2] He was elected to be governor three times but only served two time. He served from 1933 until 1937[2] and from 1941 until 1943. Talmadge died before he could be sworn in for the third time. He died of a liver problem.[3] His death caused the three governors controversy. [4]
