Fairview Alpha is an unincorporated community in Natchitoches and Red River Parishes in the state of Louisiana. At one time, it was known as Messick and Alpha. Fairview Alpha was founded in 1912. The only major retailer in the community is Dollar General, which opening in December 2022.
History
According to the USGS, Fairview Alpha was "originally named Messick for a family that owned a store here, however, when the Alpha School (Natchitoches Parish) and Fairview School (Red River Parish) were combined in 1912, the new name came into use".[3]
The International Paper Red River Mill closing its doors on April 11, 2025, jobs have been lost, The company is reducing its containerboard capacity.

Education
The community is served by the Natchitoches Parish School Board and Red River Parish School District.
Fairview Alpha school attended are Fairview Alpha Elementary School (Grades PK-6), Goldonna Elementary and Junior High School (Grades PK-8), Lakeview Junior/Senior High School (Grades 7-12), Natchitoches Central High School (Grades 9-12), Red River Elementary School (Grades PK-5), Red River Junior High School (Grades 6-8), and Red River Senior High School (Grades 9-12).
The community are attended colleges and universities to Northwestern State University and Bossier Parish Community College.
The community are also attended private school to Riverdale Academy, Oasis of Love Christian Academy, and St. Mary's Catholic School.

Notable people
- S. M. Morgan, Jr., member of the Louisiana House of Representatives from 1964 to 1968, was reared in Fairview Alpha and is interred there at Zion Baptist Cemetery.[4]
