Fido (Abraham Lincoln's dog)
Fido (c. 1851 โ 1865) was a yellow mixed-breed dog owned by US President, Abraham Lincoln. It was kept by the family for years before Lincoln became President,[1] He became a presidential pet when Lincoln became president. Fido was noticed because of the scholarship of T. D. Bancroft who was the first writer to publish content about Fido in a pamphlet published about Lincoln at the time of the United State's centennial in 1876.[2]
Death
In February 1893, the Illinois State Journal reported that Fido died in a tragic accident.[1]
