Final Destination is a 2000 American supernatural horror movie directed by James Wong. It is the first movie in the Final Destination movie series. It stars Devon Sawa, Ali Larter, Kerr Smith, and Tony Todd.
The movie is about a teenager who escapes death after having a premonition of a deadly plane explosion. He and several of his classmates leave the plane before the explosion happens, but Death later takes the lives of those who were meant to die on the plane.
The movie had negative reviews from critics but received the Saturn Award for Best Horror Film and Best Performance by a Younger Actor for Sawa's performance.[4][5]
The movie was popular with audience members and helped create a media franchise, made up of five more movies, as well as a series of novels and comic books.
