Finsterwalde is a town in Elbe-Elster in Brandenburg, Germany. In 2021, 15,748 people lived there.

Geography
Finsterwalde is in the Lower Lusatia region. It is 112 km (70 mi) south of Berlin and 78 km (48 mi) north of Dresden.
History
Finsterwalde was first mentioned in 1282 as Vynsterwalde.
