Friedrich Wilhelm Ernst Paulus (23 September 1890 – 1 February 1957) was a German Nazi Army general in the Wehrmacht from 1939-1943 during World War II. Paulus was also an infantry soldier in the Imperial German Army during World War I, Junior Officer and Senior Officer in the German Army of the Reichswehr and the Wehrmacht military adviser to the National People's Army of East Germany.
