GNR/LNER K Class 2-6-0

The GNR/LNER Class K1,K2,K3 and K4 2-6-0’s were a class of 2-6-0 type steam locomotives built between 1912 and 1939 for the Great Northern Railway and the LNER railway. The Class K1 and K2’s were built between 1911 and 1937 in 75 total built while the Class K3 and K4’s were built between 1920 and 1939 in 200 built total . They were designed by Sir Nigel Gresley from 1911-1939 . They retired were scrapped between 1955 and 1962 . Only 1 K4 Class 2-6-0 out of the 275 built K Class is preserved.
