Game Informer
Game Informer (GI) is an American video game magazine, that is done monthly. That features articles, news, tips, and reviews for video games and game consoles. It was made in August 1991, when the video game retailer FuncoLand started making an in-house newsletter.[1][2] It was bought by the retailer GameStop, which they also bought FuncoLand in 2000. From this, a large amount of promotion was done in-store, which adds to the success of the magazine. As of June 2017, it was the fifth-most popular magazine by copies circulated.
In August 2024, GameStop stopped making Game Informer after 33 years of publication and made 368 issues.[3][4][5] The website for Game Informer was also shut down.[6][7] In March 2025, Game Informer announced that it had been bought by Gunzilla Games and made as its own business. The relaunch included a released of the magazine and the magazine's website, and brought back all of Game Informer's staff. Game Informer also announced plans to restart the printing of the magazine.
