Geographia Generalis is a book about geography. It was written by Bernhardus Varenius and first published in 1650.[1] This influential book helped start modern geographical science and was very important to the development of geography as a scientific discipline.[2][3][4] A geographer named Fred Lukermann said that Geographia Generalis was what made medieval geography end and modern geography begin.[5]
