Glam punk

Glam punk is a subgenre of rock that combines glam styles with early punk music.[1]

Origins

Proto-punk started out in late 1960s, and early 1970s. The New York Dolls, also known as the godfathers of glam, started adding the style of glam to the punk genre. [2] It showed the development of both punk rock and glam punk.

Popularity uprising

In the mid/late 1970s, more bands started developing into the sound of punk. By 1975, glam punk had helped develop the genre punk rock, with bands like the Ramones, The Runaways, and the Sex Pistols. [3]

Influence

Glam punk has had a huge influence on music history, with helping the development of punk music and the glam style. It also helped with developing the sound of other punk bands.[3]
